Moms… they do what they have to do.
Lydia wanted her kids to go to a Christian school. She saw the benefits of smaller class sizes, more one on one attention, and the value of being taught Christian principles. Her oldest son could go, but she was heartbroken to find out they might not be able to afford sending her youngest son. Lydia did something not everyone would do… She had been a stay at home mom, which she enjoyed, it gave her the opportunity to raise her children. She decided to go back to work, she had a college degree and she had a good job offer if she wanted it.
However, Lydia desired to be near her children and be on their schedule. Lydia really wanted to work at the school, but the only opening was a cleaning job; some would think they were above that job. Still, Lydia took the job to be close to her children, and help pay for the school bill. It may not be her dream job, but she is delighted for the opportunity. She did what she had to do for her children.
Moms… they do what they have to do.
Jessica was pregnant with her fourth child. Jessica had not planned this one; it was with a man that wasn’t her husband. She could have aborted the baby and nobody would have ever known. However, Jessica took the path of adoption. She chose to give her child life, and to bless a couple that could not have children. It wasn’t an easy choice, she had to give up her baby that she carried for nine months. She does get to see the baby, but she has to watch another woman raise him.
Jessica loved her child more than she did herself. She refused to take his life in order to save her reputation. People may look down on her, but she did what she had to do for her child.

Susan had dreamed of a beautiful two-story house. She was quite the interior designer, and she couldn’t hardly wait to have a home she could use her skills to create the home of her dreams. However, as time went by the dream seems farther and farther away. By the time she had her second child, it was becoming clear that her dream might not come true. Her youngest daughter was born with health problems, and spent much time in the hospital. Susan spent many days in the hospital caring for her sick child. The bills pilled up and she too desired Christian school for her children. Between hospital bills and school bills; her dream house was no longer going to be reality.
Susan never got that house, she wound up living in an older house which she used her skills to make it a comfortable home for her family. However, she made sure her sick daughter was given all the treatment she needed, and now lives a healthy life. She was also able to send her children to Christian school just like she desired. Susan did what she had to do for her children.
Moms… they do what they have to do for their children.
Being a mom is no easy task, but oh the rewards you will receive. All these women gave up for their children; they went to great lengths to ensure their children had what they needed to survive. I know from experience that the sacrifice for your child is well worth it. In our society today, it seems more important to put yourself first; to make sure you have the life you want. These moms went against the grain and put their children’s needs above themselves.

Maybe you are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, and you are trying to decide if you are capable of caring for your unborn child. I love the old saying… Where there is a will there is a way. There is a way, there is always a way. We know and understand the fear and stress you can go through when you find out you have a baby on the way. Even mothers that plan to have children feel it when they find out they are pregnant. Being a mom has never been an easy job; however, do what you have to do for your baby. I promise you will be so glad you did. In the end, putting your child above yourself will bring you satisfaction far more than looking out for yourself will.
