Our wonderful client advocate, Tammy, shares her story with our center below.
I have loved and believed in the mission of Hope First ever since I first learned about it two years ago. I began volunteering behind the scenes helping with fundraisers and sending out mass mailings. Over that year, I saw the most amazing, beautiful, gentle, and compassionate women intentionally making a difference in the lives of women who are in need of someone to listen, to love, and to empower them.
When I first thought of training to meet with clients at the center, I could honestly not imagine myself sitting across from a woman in a crisis pregnancy situation. I had no idea what I would say to help her, or if I would say the wrong thing. I have witnessed the most amazing women graciously and compassionately empowering clients to make healthy, informed choices about their various circumstances. Now a trained (and more confident!) client advocate, I volunteer because I have seen the difference the center is making in the lives of women. To be even a small part of that impact is such a joy!
